# Programs

### Overview

**Programs** are categories that will house your **Offerings**. Each one will be assigned to **Program** for easy filtering and identification. Think of these as top-level categories.

**Offerings** are the specific groups that meet underneath a program. **Offerings** can exist under a Program but vary in many ways- like meeting time, price, or instructor.

### Navigating to Programs in Settings

Find **Programs** by clicking on the menu stack found in the upper left-hand corner of your Captyn account. Choose **Settings & Reports**.

Next, choose **Programs** from the list of options found in the "Your Operations" section.

### Creating Programs

On the **Programs** page, you will initially be presented with any options which have been created previously. To create a new Program, click the + Add Program option. There are four main elements to set on this new Program.

_Program Title_ \- Enter text to give the **Program** a title. This will be used for locating and assigning the **Program**. It will be public facing. You will create your Offerings later.

_Program Description_ \- Enter text to describe what the **Program** is all about. This can be more broad, as specifics can come with each individual Program. For example, the "Program Description" can be "Parent-Child" and then a Program created under this **Program** can be "Parent-Child / Under 5".

_Program Images_ - You can load images for your program to display on the public signup pages.

_Create Billing Category with Program Name_ \- Check this box to automatically make a new Billing Category that is associated with all Registrations to any particular Program(s) assigned to this **Program**. The automatically created Billing Category (if selected) will carry the same name as the **Program** it is associated with. We recommend doing this as it is a great time saving tool, and a great financial management option as well.

_Create Skills for Evaluation_ \- Set skills that demonstrate proficiency for this **Program**. When performing Evaluations, you can check off each skill that the Participant has demonstrated. Click the blue **Add Skill** option to create new Skills.

_Assessment Reminder_ \- Be alerted on the roster screen when it is time to asses a participant.

_Hide This Program in All Filters_ \- The connected offerings will still exist, but you won't be able to filter by this category.

When done, click **Save**.

### Editing Programs

To edit an existing program, head to your **Programs** page, and click on the **Program** title. Here you will see a familiar page of the **Program**, just with all of the fields completed. You can make edits to the Title, Description, Billing Category (you can now assign this to a previously created Billing Category), Add/Edit Skills, and set whether it is Active or not. 

_Of Note_: A **Program** cannot be deleted if it has been assigned to any Participant(s).

### Using Programs

**Programs** are efficient for easy filtering from your **Programming** page. Simply click on the dropdown at the top of the **Programming** page to display a list of all **Programs**. Select one or multiple options to display **Offerings** which have been assigned to the chosen **Programs**.

The general public will also be able to interact with your **Programs** as well when going to your Captyn signup page.

_Of Note_: You can direct Participants to any page of the public signup flow as each page of the signup flow (including the **Programs** page) gets a distinct web address (URL) that can be copied and shared.
